The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the infallible Word of God. We believe God divinely inspired human beings to write all the words of the Bible, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, to reveal His powerful truth and revelation to the world.
“Every word of God is flawless” (Proverbs 30:5)
Prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit” (2 Peter 1:21).
“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
God
We believe there is only one and true living God, the all powerful, all knowing, all present Creator, Ruler, and Sustainer of the Universe. We believe there is none like Him. We believe the eternally existing God is revealed in three persons as the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each equally and fully deity and each equally possessing all the attributes and characteristics of personality—mind, will, and emotion.
“You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you” (Nehemiah 9:6).
Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 28:19).
“I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’ … What I have said, that I will bring about; what I have planned, that I will do” (Isaiah 46:9–11).
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus is God, came to earth born of a virgin, died, rose again on the third day, ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. We believe He is the Savior and fulfilled the prophesies of the coming Messiah. He lived a sinless life and and cancelled all of our debt by His sacrificial death on a cross in our place. We believe He is in heaven as the High Priest and serves as the mediator for all men. All who believe in Him are made co-heirs with Christ. We believe He will come again in glory as the Bridegroom to gather the Bride, the Church.
“He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2).
We do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one [Jesus] who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God, whose present ministry is to draw sinners to Jesus Christ and convict them of sin and righteousness. His power is made manifest to seal them into the body of Christ, dwell within them, and give them spiritual gifts for the purpose of empowering them to continue the work of Jesus Christ here on earth.
“When he [the Holy Spirit] comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment” (John 16:8).
“You also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession” (Ephesians 1:13–14).
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own” (1 Corinthians 6:19).
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” (Ezekiel 36:26-27)
Creation
God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit (“The Trinity”) created the world and everything in it with His Word and continues to sustain it by His own eternal power and divinity.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” (Genesis 1:1-2)
“In him [Jesus] all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him” (Colossians 1:16).
“By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible” (Hebrews 11:3)
Salvation
We believe God sent Jesus to save (redeem) all people from the penalty of sin when they give their lives to Jesus and trust Him as their Lord and Savior. We believe salvation is a faith-gift from God, and cannot be earned. We believe God saves people from the power of sin making them a new creation; giving them a new heart, a new spirit, and a new revelation of who He is and who they are in Him. We believe all who put their trust in Jesus will be empowered here on earth to carry out His good and perfect will and will be raised with Jesus in the heavenly places and eternally secure.
“It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9)
If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
“Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose” (Philippians 2:12–13).
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” (John 10:28)
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ and is made up of all those who put their faith in Jesus Christ. We believe all followers of Jesus should assemble regularly in local communities for worship, hosting the presence through the communion in remembrance of Jesus, and for encouragement, edification, and exhortation. We believe the Church has been given a mission to go to the nations and share the good news of Jesus Christ, make disciples, declare the Kingdom of God is at hand, proclaim liberty to the captives, heal the sick, and cast out demons.
“You are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it” (1 Corinthians 12:27).
“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another” (Hebrews 10:24–25).
“The Lord Jesus … took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’” (I Corinthians 11:23-24)
When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. (Luke 9:1-2)
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Matthew 28:18-20)
Baptism
We believe baptism is a symbol of new life in Jesus Christ with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his” (Romans 6:3–5).
“‘Surely no one can stand in the way of their being baptized with water. They have received the Holy Spirit just as we have.’ So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ.” (Acts 10:47-48)
Spiritual Warfare
Satan, who was a created being by God, rebelled against God’s authority and was cast down to earth and joined by fallen angels who joined in his rebellion against God. The devil is committed to destroying everything that reflects God’s glory, lying to the children of God, seeking to turn them against God, choosing sin over holiness, and hating each other. The war between God’s kingdom and the kingdom of darkness continues to this present age.
And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will. (2 Timothy 2:24-27)
But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.
(2 Corinthians 11:3)
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies
(John 8:44)
Marriage
We believe marriage to be permanent and exclusive union and covenant between a natural born biological man and a woman defined by their chromosomes and God given genetics. We believe that sexual acts outside of marriage is prohibited and considered a rebellious act of sin against God and their spouse.
“Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral” (Hebrews 13:4).
“God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27).
That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24)
Children
We believe in the sanctity of life that begins at conception and that abortion is an abomination before the Lord who created all life in His image.
This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer, who formed you in the womb: I am the Lord, the Maker of all things, who stretches out the heavens, who spreads out the earth by myself” (Isaiah 44:24).
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. … Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be” (Psalm 139:13-14, 16)
